CO: How to fix the Damn Traffic
IDEA: Bomb the Gaper Tunnels
The big project just downstream from Idaho Springs never worked.
We are concerned the latest effort of widenting will not work either.
The Veterans memorial aka "Gaper" tunnels still terrify Jerry + Geraldine on the way's to and fro ... back and forth from Keystone + Breck & the Suburban homestead or DIA.
The tourists from Charlotte and Dallas always hit and ride the brakes and freak out when they hit this easy to navigate obstacle.
IDEA: Send in the USAF from Colorado Springs. Bomb the tunnels + surrounding mountain to rubble. Call it practice vs. ISIS
Bomb to smithereens, clean up the mess, pave it straight for Geraldine. Officially rename them the Gaper tunnels.
Problem Solved.
Would take about a week of debris removal and paving of 1/2 mile.
Would provide valuable Military training.

Take US-285 up over and thru the big valley. Jump Hoosier pass and quickly land at the biggest ski haven on earth. Breck is Epic. Always expanding.

Ad Campaign: Advertise heavily in "Centennial", the Highlands, the Highland Ranch gated communities, etc... Plus Honda Pilot & Minivan Dealerships.. Messaging to include:
"If you think 4 wheel drive means 4 wheel stop".. Go back to Wash Park
IDEA: Ban But Crack Truckers
From Glenwood to Pink Floyd Hill:
Ban Semi Trucks on Friday 3pm to 9pm, Saturday 6am thru Sunday 9pm. Spring, Summer, Fall, and WINTER. Ban them all year long.
Re route them thru I-80 or I-40

PENALTY FOR NON ACTION: If the 'grits are stranded mid-stream.. invite tardy I-70 Semis to park in the lots at Breck for the weekend. This is a natural suggestion. Vail proper already has plenty of exhaust as the city is built in a rest area. (More diesel fumes for Vail Pass folks the better:).
Epic pass people love and deserve diesel fumes!
Don't let East Vail folks be the only ones to enjoy the sweet smell of Diesel. Let BOTH East Vail + Breck folks breath in the fumes! Delicious!
